YOUR NEWBORN SESSION
Best time for a newborn session
The best time for a newborn photography session is within the first 5-12 days. This is especially true if you love those beautiful curled up, sleepy newborn images. After two weeks the baby usually doesn’t settle as easily. Some of the more traditional newborn images will then be a bit more difficult to acheive. Sessions can of course be done at a later time, though. We would still be able to get some stunning images of your baby, no matter what age. The selection of poses might just differ slightly.
BOOKING YOUR SESSION
You can Contact Me at anytime during the pregnancy to book your session. I only do a limited number of newborn sessions each month. Therefore, I recommended to book a couple of months in advance. As soon as the baby is born you contact me again and we set the final date.
PRE-SHOOT CONSULTATION
Before the session we will have a pre-shoot consultation. I will walk you through the process and answer any questions you might have. At this time will will also discuss how you might plan to display your images in your home, as well as colour design and style preferences. This will guide how I set up and plan the session to ensure it is tailored specifically to you.
THE DAY OF THE SESSION
Newborn sessions take place at my home studio in Tytherington, Macclesfield and usually take 2-4 hours. This leaves plenty of time for feeding, diaper changes and cuddles. The baby will dictate the session and decide the pace. I will never book more than one newborn session per day, so my time on that day is set aside exclusively for you. And don’t worry if the baby won’t settle. We’ll get some gorgeous awake shots instead! The studio will be warmed up to keep the baby comfortable. As a newborn photographer, the safety and wellbeing of the baby is paramount and will be my number one priority at all times. I will send you some more details about the session closer to the date.
AFTER THE SESSION
A few weeks after the session you will receive an online gallery with 20-30 beautiful images to choose from. Or you can return to the studio for a personal viewing session. You can then order prints and choose from my selection of High Quality Products, as well as purchase the digital files.
