The first year in a child’s life is filled with milestones. Anyone that has children will tell you it goes by way too fast. It’s great to have those lovely newborn photos, but as your baby keeps growing it will go through many amazing changes and constantly learn new things.

I recommend doing baby sessions according to what stage they are in developmentally, rather than a specific age. Remember, every baby is different! At around 6-9 months the baby will hold up its head when on the belly, will grab their toes while laying down and can sit on their own. This is a great time for a session. At around 10-12 months they will start standing up and taking their first steps – another great time to photograph your child.

Keep having photographs taken of your child to document their life journey. These images will be invaluable later on, looking back on them growing up. And don’t forget to include the whole Family. Capture the love and connection that you share together!
